Here we go, site partners...
I'll start with a tale of one of our camping trips:
When my kids, a boy and girl, were about 10 and 11 years old the 3 of us and one of their friends took off to the beach for a weekend camping trip. (Hubby had to work that weekend.)
We took a 6 person cabin tent and coolers of food for our weekend adventure.
Even though I'm a girlie-girl and only about 5 feet 2 inches tall, we were able to get the tent set up just fine. Dinner was something simple like sandwiches, I think.
We were just getting read to climb into our sleeping bags when the fiercest thunder storm imaginable came up. (I guess we were lucky, timing-wise, thinking back now.)
The rain beat down and the tent walls flapped and moved. We were sure it would be blown over with us still inside, but we stayed put.
Needless to say, we were wide awake by this time and didn't need to frighten each other with ghost stories. We were well frightened of being electrocuted or washed away.
Eventually the storm passed and we tried to settle in again, wet spots and all.
Shortly after that we heard snuffling and shuffling nearby. Drat! Probably just a raccoon but we just lay there with eyes wide open waiting for that to pass, too.
The next day we ventured out and were tortured by sand fleas every where we went except in the water.
Usually our trips to the beach were much friendlier than this one had been. It turned out to be a very memorable camping trip, although not in the way we hoped.

Poorly Built
